Partridge shooting in Spain: long standing tradition 1 hour away from Madrid.

Lands of Valdepusa: strong history linked to partridge shooting at its very best.

Beyond being one of the most beautiful and interesting capital provinces of our country from a historical point of view, having acquired the best of the three different cultures which once influenced Spain -Christian, Jewish and Muslim- Toledo has always been considered as the pinnacle of the Spanish game shooting: the red legged partridge (alectoris rufa).

Between the villages of Malpica de Tajo and San Martin de Pusa, lies our shooting estate, El Molino Blanco, a partridge oasis where we have been arranging amazing shoot parties for a few seasons already, until Covid forced us to take a break. Located only 50 minutes away from Madrid and in a spectacular setting, it was in this private Spanish estate where King Alfonso XIII, together with the Duke of Arion, began the traditional driven shoots at the end of the XIX Century. Since then, the property has served as home for different Royal family members and personalities, finding a unique place to enjoy the pure essence of red legged partridge shooting at its very best.

Lodging: join us and feel at home.

At CRHC, we strongly believe that the success of any hunt should not be exclusively linked to the results achieved on an individual basis, but to the combination of details around a shooting day. In this line, if we were to highlight something about shooting at El Molino Blanco, this would be that every guest, once passed the estate’s entrance, they will feel as part of our family.

The house, nestled on the banks of the Pusa River and right in the middle of the property, is the perfect place to relax and unwind during the stay with us. Decorated to the maximum detail, the recent improvement performed in the house, brings together a combination of tradition and modernity, creating a unique and charming atmosphere. We have two spacious living rooms, both of which are equipped with a beautiful fireplace and offer stunning views looking over La Mancha. It also offers 10 double fully equipped rooms, tastefully and soberly furnished. Finally, guest will be able to choose from a wide variety of Spanish traditional dishes and wines, always served by accommodating house staff who are on hand to look after your every need.

Shooting partridges with us: what to expect?

Our Spanish shooting season runs from the beginning of October to the end of February, offering international teams to extend their season in the best possible way: with warmer climate.

The 18 different drives covering over 1,100 hectares of stunning landscapes, makes partridge shooting at El Molino Blanco something really special. The setting of the estate is incomparable for partridge shooting and the changing terrain is able to offer a wide variety of drives, allowing teams to choose between high English style or traditional Spanish drives. Either way, El Molino Blanco is able to display a fantastic quality bird.

Generally, the shoot is arranged for teams of 4-8 guns and typically, a day consists of 4 different drives. During the shoot, each participant will be assisted by a loader and secretario looking after each of them. After the second drive there is a short break for the taco, that usually takes place in one of the many privileged spots available in the estate. Once the last drive is over, the team is taken to the main house where lunch will be served, and the game honoured.

What if part of the team does not want to take part in the shoot?

Visiting Spain is always a special occasion, no matter if you are coming shooting or not. We boast of having a pleasant weather during most of the year and an extraordinary gastronomical variety. But on top of that, the artistic and cultural heritage influenced by different civilizations along hundreds of years has turned Spain into one of the most interesting countries to visit. It is with this believe that we offer an amazing variety of activities to do around Toledo. Be sure that every member of the group will be willing to come back next time!

What do I need to come and shoot partridges to Spain?

Spain is a country that tends to receive thousands of shooting teams every year, being a gun friendly country and making the custom process at the airport hassle-free.
