Hunting in Spain

Monterías

Spanish driven hunt, also known as “Monteria” is Spain’s most traditional way of hunting whose origin dates back to ancient times. The effort and dedication put into looking after a hunting area for a long period of time, the existing camaraderie between hunters involved in the party, the invaluable help of dogs in the aim of pushing the game towards the pegs as well as the superb gastronomy are important aspects of this unique and particular way of hunting in spite of other similar methodologies practiced in Europe.

At Camino Real Hunting Consultants, we offer the opportunity of accessing some of the most emblematic and traditional hunting properties specialized in Monteria, while focused in two important factors: i) safety measures; and ii) best guarantee for success.

Normally, we arrange Monterias for private groups with a small number of participants which will not exceed 30 hunters in any case. The species to hunt in Monteria are wild boar, red deer, fallow deer and mouflon sheep, however this will vary depending on the preferences of our guests.

If you are looking forward to experiencing this exciting way of hunting and knowing what it feels like when an animal is running towards you, chased by a big pack of dogs, do not hesitate to contact us. Believe us, once you try it, you will want to come back every year!
